Photography Course Update 3

As part of our following week’s homework we were set the task of taking pictures to show different compositional techniques taking into account the rule of thirds.  Here are mine.

foreground-interest

Foreground Interest – Taken at Hall Place, Bexley

framing

Framing – Taken at Danson Park, Bexleyheath

lead-in-lines

Lead in lines – Taken along the River Cray, Orpington

negative-space

Negative Space – Taken by the lake in Danson Park, Bexley

s-curve

shallow-depth-of-field

Shallow Depth of Field – Taken at the rock garden in Danson Park, Bexley

We are not allowed to do any editing to these photo’s as they are also part of the initial starting point.  The second part of the course deals with using Photoshop to improve our photo’s and I’m quite looking forward to that.  I then get to build a portfolio showing how I have improved.

I’m really enjoying the course and although it leaves me tired for the rest of the week I feel like I am achieving something and I love tackling the homework that’s set each weekend.

It’s looking good. When I had a photography business, I quickly learned not to crop in the camera. It makes it difficult to get some print sizes. Looking forward to your new shots.
