Lovely Mornings

I never used to be a morning person. In fact I’m probably still not an actual morning person! I still struggle to get up early but once I’m up I’m glad I am. And I force myself to every day even at the weekends.

I like to wake up slowly and at least 1 & ½ hours before I need to start getting ready for work. I set my alarm for 6:30am each day and do not leave the house until 8:30am. This means I’m sleepy by 9pm each night but I don’t mind that! Having those two hours to myself with no distractions is one of my favourite parts of the day.

Why I love early mornings

The first thing I do is make a hot cup of milky coffee. I feed Ruby our kitty whilst the kettle boils. She’s very insistent first thing as most cats are and we have a few cuddles too!

Slow breakfast

I have no excuse not to make myself a substantial breakfast each day as I have more than enough time. Lately I’ve been enjoying scrambled eggs with avocado or warm oats & honey. I like to sit and eat in silence and think about the day ahead.

Time to read

I like to read for about an hour; whether it is a current book I’m devouring or catching up with some of my favourite blogs. I stay in my pyjamas and snuggle up on the sofa with a blanket and it’s one of my most favourite parts of the day.

Get ready at my own pace

I love getting ready in the mornings and taking my time to shower, wash my face properly, moisturise all over and take my time with my hair and make-up. It makes me feel ready for the day ahead.

A quick tidy

I like to have a quick tidy before I leave for work each day just so the house is welcoming when we get home. I straighten the towels in the bathroom, put away anything that’s been used, put the dishwasher on and make the bed.

I hate rushing to get ready or start my day.  I take it at a slow pace and take my time to wake up.

    I typically get up later, like 8 am and get out of bed around 9 am 🙂
    I don’t typically go to bed until 12:30 or 1 am
