Wonderful Wednesday #2

Wednesday has rolled around quickly and I can’t quite believe we’re now heading into the month of March.  So onto my 2nd Wonderful Wednesday post.

Happy Wednesday to you all 🙂 The past week I’ve felt quite tired and worn out.  I knew I needed some rest at the weekend so rest I had.  Work is very busy and I’m struggling to do much in the evenings once I’m home.  We’re onto the 3rd phase of the capital project and although it’s really interesting work it requires constant brain power.  I had a great weekend though, caught up on some sleep and visited family.

Hair cut

I admit I have a slight phobia of hairdressers.  Maybe it’s because I’ve had a few disastrous cuts in my lifetime or maybe its because I have to stare at myself in a mirror for an hour whilst making small talk with a stranger….who is repeatedly touching my head.  Whatever it is it means I have my hair cut on average once every 6 months.  So on Friday I plucked up the courage and went after work to get it done.  Luckily I think I’ve found ‘the one’.  She was so nice and did exactly what I asked for and talked me through it all.  I think she knew a scaredy-cat when she saw one.  I’ll definitely go back to her again and I’m really happy with the cut.

Salmon & Cream Cheese

I visited my mum on Saturday for a catch up and she made us a picnic lunch.  We had lots of cups of tea, grapes, mini-chedders and salmon & cream cheese wholemeal rolls.  It was really delicious.  We spent a lot of time talking about make-up and my photography course so a very girly morning indeed.

I’d had a really tough week last week so once I was home Saturday I ran a bath and spent the next two hours having a little self care.  There were candles, a bubble bath, face mask, exfoliation and reading my new book.  I felt wonderful and enjoyed a cup of Ginger & Lemon tea with a spoon of honey.  I felt so relaxed after.

New Diary

I managed to lose my diary last week which felt like a traumatic experience as I put everything in there from birthdays to important dates to my to do lists.  But on the bright side I purchased a new one from Waterstones and it’s by my favourite stationery brand – BusyB.  Its purple (my favourite colour) and oh so very new.  I’m slowly filling it up in my best handwriting.

The lovely Sally is the one who got me thinking about the warm and fuzzies over on Sally Tangle. There’s even more lovely folks who join in on the happiness and mid week merriment so be sure to pop over to them for more of the good stuff – MichelleHelenEmmaKateCatJoKerriLauraSarahJasminPeta , Elenor & Sam. Don’t forget to check out the #wonderfulwednesday on Twitter too, the WW family is growing all the time!

Losing your diary!! I’d be a mushy ball of panic, but I’m so glad you got a new one and started the organisation again. Sometimes we all just need to slow down and take stock when things get busy. It sounds like you spent your weekend wisely. I’m so with you on the hair cut, but the feeling of freshly cut hair is so nice.
Have a lovely rest of your week
    Kate xx

I did have a mini-meltdown I must admit! But there is something quite lovely about starting a new one and it being all neat with no crossing out inside 🙂 Absolutely can’t beat a bit of hair swishing after a good cut! Thank you and you 🙂 xx
