Wonderful Wednesday #3

Well here we are again. Sticking to a Wonderful Wednesday post each week makes me realise just how quickly the weeks are passing.  I’m so looking forward to spring time now and spending time in my garden again.

I wanted March to be a month of rest and self-care and so far it’s off to a good start. I’ve not made many plans for after work or the weekends and I feel like I’m finally getting on top of everything life related!  Man that feels good!

So without further ado…

Happy Wednesday one and all. I hope the last week has treated you well!

New Clothes

After spending what has felt like an eternity curating my wardrobe I’m finally adding those pieces that are well thought out and longed for. If you read my blog regularly you’ll know that I am currently on the minimalism path so anything I add to my wardrobe just needs to be right and last the test of time.  My recent order turned up last Friday and I am so pleased with the items I chose.  That’s it on the new clothes front for a while now.  I’m happy with what I have and have everything that I need.

Time with family

I got to spend most of last Saturday with my niece and nephew and although it was pretty exhausting it was so much fun. My niece turns 1 in June so she’s still so little and very very cuddly.  And my nephew turns 2 in May.  They are both sweet affectionate little souls and I always come away feeling happy after spending time with them.  There was puréed food, a few naps and fun with toys to be had.

Camomile Tea

I’ve gone from only drinking coffee and PG Tips tea to venturing into more unknown territory of herbal teas lately. Its all down to a close friend not having anything decaf in her house and I was offered Ginger & Lemon tea.  I enjoyed it so much that I’ve been trying a few different ones out at home and work.  Last week I tried Camomile tea for the first time in my life and I’m hooked.  Why oh why did I wait 33 years to try it!?  I’ve got a lot of catching up to do!

Self-care

My plan for the month of March was self-care and some rest and so far its off to a good start. I planned nothing for last weekend so I had early nights and slow early mornings.  I’ve had my hair cut and I’ve been giving myself regular exfoliating baths and manicures.  Next up is starting some exercise!  I’m thinking Yoga or Pilates on Sundays and using our exercise bike a few times a week after work.

Life Admin

Don’t you just love those days where you get up early and feel wonderfully motivated to get everything in order? We’re talking laundry, ironing, cleaning, organisation, fresh bed sheets, homework, blog posts – even clearing out your handbag!  I had that day Sunday.  It’s nice to feel on top of everything it definitely calms me and gives me peace of mind.  I have a lot on at work right now so having everything in order at home means I can get home from work and just relax for the evening and chill out.  Yay to that.

Homework

Yep you read that right. Part of my wonderful Wednesday post is being set homework – I’m that person.  I am thoroughly enjoying my photography class that I attend on Monday evenings.  Each week our teacher sets us homework of different types of photo’s to take.  This last week though he finally set our first proper assignment and we have 4 weeks to complete it.  I spent most of Sunday afternoon getting stuck in and felt very accomplished to have almost finished it!

Sandwiches

Without sounding like Joey from Friends one of my favourite things to eat is the good old humble sandwich! My mum made some on Saturday and they were delicious – grated cheese, grated carrot and spinach leaves on wholemeal bread.  I only wish she’d made twice the amount!

The lovely Sally is the one who got me thinking about the warm and fuzzies over on Sally Tangle. There’s even more lovely folks who join in on the happiness and mid week merriment so be sure to pop over to them for more of the good stuff – MichelleHelenEmmaKateCatJoKerriLauraSarahJasminPeta , Elenor & Sam. Don’t forget to check out the #wonderfulwednesday on Twitter too, the WW family is growing all the time!

That’s a tasty sounding sandwich combo! And if you haven’t yet might I suggest chucking a peppermint tea into your repertoire? SO good!
Have a wonderful rest of the week filled with lots more life admin and all the self-care you can handle

There is nothing like a sandwich made by a mum! I’m not that into sandwiches, but someone my mum also makes them delicious…it’s a mystery! haha. I just realised that it is actually Wednesday…where do the days go?!

You are right mums have magical sandwich making skills 🙂 Who knew grated cheese, carrot and spinach would go together so well!? Indeed the days are going fast which is fine by me as long as they slow the hell down come Spring/Summer time 🙂

I am or have been a semi-pro photographer if you ever have questions your teacher doesn’t have time to ask from light to gear to anything just ask 🙂

I use the exercise bike every day. Most people don’t have time for it but if you have one in your home I find I can give 40 minutes to it every day. Keeps fit, tones, metabolism up, good for heart and so on. Have a lovely Wednesday

I have never tried that combination on a sandwich: cheese, carrot and spinach. I think I will definitely have a go this week. You have inspired me. Thank you.
