I’m getting into the habit of checking in on my goals on a weekly basis but its not until I go to write a monthly goals update that I really look into how I’m spending my time and the goals I set myself at the start of the year.
Here we are again a whole month later and I can honestly say the time has passed so quickly!
I thought I’d do an update on the original goals and list a few new ones…
I am definitely at the point where I wear every single item in my wardrobe on a regular basis. I did one last clothes purchase a few weeks ago and bought some new staples to see me through until summer. I’m quite looking forward to changing my seasonal clothes over and wearing lighter pieces. At the weekend I put away my heaviest knits but it’s not quite at the point of getting my summer pieces out yet. I’m almost at the point of storing away my winter boots and coats though and I’ve been living in ballet pumps and plimsolls. Yay to spring weather!
I’ve stuck to the mantra of only buying what we need but I have been buying some plants for the house.
Using up products
I knew the day would come where I literally ran out of everything. That was the start of March! I finished up my foundation, cover up, hair spray and face moisturiser all within the same week. Man that was an expensive trip to Boots! But needed. So my foundation & cover up last about 3 months and my other beauty items about 2 months. It’s helpful to know.
Take my camera out every weekend
This was working during the first part of my photography course as we were getting set homework every week. Now we’re onto writing our project and learning Photoshop there isn’t a need for me to plan days out to complete it. So now I need to make an extra effort to pick up my camera and go and practice. Now the weather is much better I’ve no excuse and quite frankly I’m missing it!
Keep track of daily spending
Sometimes I find this difficult especially at the weekends but I’m probably checking my daily spending every other day at the moment. If I have plans at the weekend I’ve been good at drawing money out and only spending what I budgeted for. I’ve still been saving 51% of my income and I will without a doubt hit my first financial goal by the end of this month as planned – that feels so good!
Go for more walks – I’m struggling to fit in exercising as other things are taking priority at the moment but I just love the feeling of walking and need to do it more. I want to make the most of my lunch breaks and get outside. There is a lovely park next to my work so I’m going to start going for a wonder more regularly.
Plan some days out with the hubby – Now the weather is cheering up a bit I want to start making the most of the weekends and get outside more. I want to explore some local woods and parks and of course take the camera with me.
That’s it for this update. How are you getting on with your 2017 goals?
